Scouting For Food, Saturday, February 13 and 20, 2010
Scouting for Food is the Sam Houston Area Council’s annual “Good Turn” project to help
collect food for the needy families in our
communities through the “Souper Bowl of Caring"
benefiting a local Food Food Bank.
On February 13th, Scouts
distribute Scouting for Food door hangers to
homes in our area. This
announces Scouting for Food to the home
owner and helps them prepare for the
collection day. On February 20th, Scouts return to the homes and pick up the food. The food is then brought to a local Food Bank.
Meet at Heritage Elementary on East Blvd., North Parking Lot at 8:30 a.m. on February 13th and at 9:00 a.m. on February 20th. Wear Class A shirts.
For more information, or to sign up, contact Brenda Mills.
100 Years of Scouting, Thursday, February 18, 2010 On February 18, 2010 the Sam Houston Area Council will host a historic Adventure of a Lifetime at Minute Maid Park beginning at 6:00 PM. This once-in-a-lifetime event will unite every facet of the Sam Houston Area Council’s Scouting programs in one location.
